Still lucky, I guess...

Weight: 310
Total Weight loss: 40 pounds

No one is as surprised as I am about this week. I will cherish it always.

I think I can sense the almost-nothing-but-junk-food lifestyle getting old, actually. I've been more tired than usual, and I don't know... it's not THAT much fun eating crap all the time. Like anything else, you get sick of it eventually, don't you?

(Written as I just finished a second breakfast from Dunkin' Donuts -- when I wasn't even really hungry since I ate a nice bowl of cereal earlier! As Red Forman would say, "Dumbass!" It was one of those stupid impulse buys that I regretted pretty much the moment I left the store.)

It's early in the day, though, so I have plenty of time to make up for that somewhat.

Things are good, things are fine. I have plenty to look forward to.

CONGRATS!

and, when I was a trainer, I always urged my clients that if they wanted cake (or donuts :)) to eat it early in the day as the have the rest of the day to burn it off them----even just through regular activity!

^^^ What she said. Eventually, the hope is that you won't eat junk save for the rare occasion. It took me awhile to get to that point myself. (Fast food, when you are commuting 2 hours for school, seems a lot more viable than prepping something and bringing it with you. You're already out 4 hours of the day, so you don't feel like wasting the extra time needed...)

The first time I lost weight, I did it the right way, too (sensible choices) but stopped doing it. (Doh!) But I would allow myself the naughty carbs and sweets only before noon, if I had to have them.

Here's something that might surprise you. I know bodybuilders who will eat protein and healthy fats just before bed. It's actually beneficial, since the body needs to rebuild muscle tissue, AND the fat slows down the absorbtion of the protein so that digestion through the night takes longer and the body gets the protein it needs over a longer period of time, than just the protein alone.

So, if you trust yourself to have a small handful of almonds or walnuts, that might be a good before-bed snack. :)
